If you're a fan of niche fashion brands, then you've probably heard of Telfar. The New York-based label has been around since 2012 and is known for its bold use of color and texture. But as it turns out, people have a newfound interest in the brand's bags — so much so that the company's website crashed when they dropped! So what exactly makes these bags so special?
Who is Telfar?
Telfar is a luxury fashion brand based in LA. They were founded in 2016 and sell their products online and in stores. Their most popular item is the rainbow bag, which has been featured on Refinery29, Teen Vogue, and The Coveteur. But their new bags recently dropped and they have sold out within minutes again!
They sold out in under 35 minutes.
Telfar's rainbow bags sold out in under 35 minutes and were limited edition. Telfar's latest bag drop took place at a Rainbow fashion store on Fulton Street. The brand had never had a physical bag drop before; all the previous ones had been online.

Why are people going crazy for these bags?
These bags are unique in that they're made from recycled materials, like the backpacks and handbags currently on the market. They're also beautiful, and unlike most designer bags, really affordable. This is because Telfar is a small company that doesn't mass produce its products—you can feel good about helping out a small business by buying your next bag from them!
The brand's site crashed.
The brand's site crashed, but that was not the only place you could buy them. Telfar also put a few of its bags on sale in Net-a-Porter, which also sold out within minutes. It seems the popularity of these bags are high.
As they say, all good things must come to an end. While we're sad to say goodbye, we're also excited for what's next—and eager to see what the future holds for Telfar's rainbow range of bags.
