As the chapter of 2019 comes to an end, we wanted to recap the top 10 fashion highlights of the past year.
#1: THE TIE DYE:
Brands like Todd Snyder and Amiri were jumping aboard with sweaters and T-Shirts that were striking a balance between cozy and extremely cool. The tie dye trend was definitely a hit and we loved seeing everyone wearing those shirts.
#2: LIGHT WASH DENIM:
David Beckham nailed this look like so many others. We have been on the light wash denim train for a few years now, and it was great to see it living up even more in 2019. We defiantly want to see more of this trend in 2020.
#3: BROWN COLOR PALETTE:
Robert Pattinson was rocking the brown suit with such grace. Defiantly a look for the books. I don’t want to go as far as to say that brown was the new black this past year, but it sure did pleasantly surprise us all at what brown was able to do. Hopefully brown will be making a comeback in 2020 as well, because we loved it.
#4: CROPPED TROUSERS:
When it comes to fashion icons, Pharrell Williams should be used as the definition for it. He was wearing those cropped pants better than anyone else. This was for sure a hard look to pull off, especially because if it was worn the wrong way it kind of looked like one of those high-water pants. But Pharrell showed us how it’s done and if it’s done right than please let us see more of it in 2020.
#5: DOUBLE BREASTED SUITS:
Who would have ever thought that the double breasted suit would have made this big of a come-back? Seeing so many gentlemen wear a double breasted suit perfectly tailored to their bodies was such a pleasure for our eyes and it proofed to us yet again, that you can turn any “vintage” suit into a modern looking suit simply by tailoring them. We are excited to see what 2020 has got to offer in the formal world.
#6: FASHION HATS:
The fashion hats were intimidating at first but once we started seeing more and more brave men wear them, we couldn’t contain ourselves but to wear them as well. This fashion piece takes a fashionista to style and was for sure a challenge for many men out there.
#7: THE SLING BAGS:
It as basically just a fanny pack slung across the body BUT it was such a hit that almost everybody has one in their closets now. Maybe it wasn’t quite up your alley but 2019 was for sure the year for the skater style. Sling bags, skateboard hoodies and cargo pants was a men’s best friend. And we are certain that 2019 wasn’t the last time we have seen the fanny packs.
#8: BOLD SUIT COLORS:
This was my personal favorite this past year. The bold colors made the world look so much more colorful and I enjoyed looking at the different styling ideas men had to offer. Paired with a plain white dress shirt or a simple Tee, it really worked with everything.
#9: CORDUROY:
Corduroy pants and jackets were a hit this past fall season. In men’s fashion and in women’s fashion the corduroyed outfits made a comeback and people loved it. And we are pretty sure that this look won’t go anywhere anytime soon. In fact, we predict it to be a trend for fall 2020 as well.
#10: PATTEREND PANTS:
If you are entering the year of 2020 without a pair of patterned pants, did you even shop at all? These pants were one of the biggest fashion trends of the past year and we were obsessed with it. It was such a great item to dress up and down and it always looked very well put together. If you don’t own a pair yet, make sure to get yourself one because they won’t disappear anytime soon.
2019 was a great year with amazing fashion trends and AlbertGerald wants to say thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. We are very excited to close this chapter and are eager to open the new one with more dreams, higher goals and a lot more fashion.
